“To promote the well being of all older people and help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience”
We are committed to:
- Ensuring that older people are respected and valued as individuals
- Encouraging choice and opportunity for older people
- Promoting effective care for older people and giving older people themselves a voice in that care
- Promoting positive attitudes towards older people and ageing
- Promoting independent living and reducing social isolation
- Influencing and developing public policy that affects older people
- Striving to ensure that older people are fully informed of their rights and opportunities
- Enabling older people themselves to influence directly the nature, quality and methods of delivery of services that seek to meet their needs
- Campaigning for increased opportunities for older people to participate fully in, and contribute to, their community and society as a whole.
We believe in:
- Identifying and responding to needs expressed within the community
- Monitoring the highest ethical and professional standards
- Establishing guidelines for good practice and regular monitoring and evaluation of services against agreed standards
- Developing skilled and motivated staff and volunteers able to respond positively, flexibly and effectively to the demands made on them
- Taking pride in individual and collective achievements
- Establishing and maintaining diverse and adequate sources of income
- Meeting the challenge of change and responding positively
