Age Concern Central Lancashire's staff get residents money

Age Concern Central Lancashire's Community Support and Information team have been applauded after it was revealed that their work has resulted in over £1 million of extra benefits being claimed by local older people.

Matthew Tomlinson, Transitional Care Team Officer said, "The team's staff and volunteers are trained to give benefits advice which is specifically aimed at older people. We can give this advice either in the person's home or at our office's in Preston. It is thanks to the staff's hard work and expertise that we can show that, in the last year, we helped older people across Central Lancashire access over £1million pounds in extra benefit payments."

The Community Support and Infromation team's advice is free, independent and confidential and is available to anyone aged 55 or over.
