Campaigning

Primarily a charity delivering direct support to older people, Age Concern Central Lancashire also campaigns at a local and county level on the issues that affect local older people.  Want to get involved?

Although the primary purpose of Age Concern Central Lancashire is to offer direct support to older people we also work with and for older people to raise awareness of issues which are having a negative impact on local older people.

We do this by linking in to local older people's forums and partnerships and sharing the information and evidence we have gathered on any issue that is exercising older people or causing hardship.

In the past year we have been involved in campaigns on:

- proposed reductions and removal of free or dicounted travel 
- older residents in care homes not being given their own clothes to wear
- the need for some older people to supported at meal times in hospitals
- raising awareness of the impact of service user care plan reviews
